What we do

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we improve animal welfare through prevention, advocacy, and education. Our main goal is to reduce animal neglect and abandonment in Mahoning County, Ohio.

We are not a rescue, so we do not take in animals. Instead, we focus on proactive measures to reduce the number of companion animals that end up at rescues and shelters.

We believe that if we help the people, we help the pets. By building relationships rooted in trust, we support pet owners who want to do better but may lack the knowledge, access, or resources to do so.

We donate pet food to food pantries serving veterans, seniors, and those facing financial hardship. We also provide education about responsible pet ownership, available services, and animal welfare resources throughout Mahoning County and surrounding communities.

Pet Food Program

Join our Facebook GROUP and advocate for the animals!

We purchase 500 pounds of dog and cat food every other week with the funds we raise.
We donate approximately 1,000 pounds of pet food per month.
Volunteers at the Youngstown Community Food Center rebag the food we donate.
We provide gallon baggies for the pet food to be rebagged.
These baggies of dog food are ready for the recipients.
These baggies of cat food are ready for the recipients.
Pet food recipients also receive feeding instructions with pet care tips on the back.
Local businesses sell chocolate bars for us to help fund our pet food purchases.
We hold a basket raffle every few months to help raise funds for the pet food.
We also had a sip and paint fundraiser this past fall.
We have donation boxes at various businesses to collect pet food and supplies.
